The welfare of every child and young person who takes part in The Actors Forge Academy is our first priority. Everyone connected with us — our coaches, freelance practitioners and volunteers — holds an Enhanced DBS check and completes safeguarding training before working with students, and we follow Working Together to Safeguard Children (2026) and DfE safeguarding guidance for out-of-school settings.
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Lynn Huntley, Co-Director and Head of Safeguarding, who can be contacted at Lynn@theactorsforge.com.
If you have any concern about a child's welfare, or about the conduct of anyone working with our students, please contact Lynn directly, or your local authority's children's services if it's urgent. Our full Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy is available on request.

We collect only the personal data we need to run classes safely and keep in touch with parents and students — contact details, attendance, relevant medical information, and photos or self-tape material only where you've separately agreed to it. We never sell your data or use a child's information for advertising.
The Actors Forge Academy Limited is the data controller for this information.
For any question about your data, or to access, correct or delete it, contact Daniel Lemon at Dan@theactorsforge.com.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) at any time. Our full Privacy & Data Protection Policy is available on request.

If something isn't right, we want to hear about it. Most concerns are resolved fastest with a quick conversation with your child's coach, or with Dan or Lynn directly.
If you'd rather raise it formally, email Dan@theactorsforge.com — we'll acknowledge it within 2 working days and respond within 10.
If you're not satisfied, you can ask for an independent review by the other director, who'll respond within 15 working days.
Complaints about how a safeguarding matter was handled go straight to Lynn Huntley, our Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Our full Complaints Policy is available on request.

By booking a class with us, you're agreeing to our Terms and Conditions. In short: fees are billed monthly in advance via Stripe, and you can cancel your subscription any time by emailing Dan@theactorsforge.com.
You have a 14-day cooling-off right on your first booking. We're not able to refund classes missed due to illness or holiday, but if we cancel a session, we'll offer a make-up or credit. We only use photos or video of your child with your separate, specific consent — never automatically.
Our full Terms and Conditions are available on request.

Health and Safety at The Actors Forge Academy
We assess and manage the risks in our classes at every venue we use, in line with HSE guidance — from movement and physical work to fire safety and first aid.
A trained first aider is present at every session, and we work with each venue on their fire evacuation procedures.
Any accident or concern is logged and reviewed, and we report to the Health and Safety Executive where required.
